A Small Incident in Virginia

While at the Appalachian Inn, I heard a commotion outside. I had just woken up, and went outside to see what was going on. There was a man and a woman and a boy. The man and the woman were on both sides of the boy, and then I saw the woman slap the boy's hand, really hard. He still had some fight in him. He didn't just give up. He didn't quit. He was swinging his little arms at the woman. I was proud of the little man. The man then looked up and saw me. He was a like a white thug wannabe. He had tattoos, a cutoff shirt, and he yelled to me, “This isn't any of your business.”

I responded with, “Well, you're being loud out here, and I'm trying to concentrate.” Then the man said, “I just woke up, I don't need this bullshit.” I responded: “Me too. Me too.”

Then the woman started talking real nice. She was explaining how the boy had ran off, out into the middle of the street, and that they were protecting them. I said “okay”, but stayed out there for a minute or two. Nothing else happened. They eventually walked away, and I didn't hear anymore commotion.
