“The Beshear administration, through a project called KentuckyWired, proposes to develop more than 3,000 miles of publicly owned broadband fiber throughout the state by late 2018, all part of an effort to spur economic growth and improve sluggish Internet speeds. The fiber will serve as a "backbone" network to help private carriers and communities improve access to high-speed broadband, particularly in underserved and rural areas where connectivity lags behind national benchmarks.” http://www.courier-journal.com/story/news/local/2015/05/16/ky-broadband-project-raises-privacy-questions/27384581

Three people, including a Kentucky state senator, came forward on Friday to say that Marilyn Thomas was telling close friends as early as 1995 that gubernatorial candidate James Comer abused her while they were in college. "I have known Marilyn Thomas for many years and know the allegations to be true," state Sen. Alice Forgy Kerr said on Facebook Friday. Kerr, a Republican from Lexington, is supporting rival candidate Hal Heiner in the GOP race. Comer has denied the allegations of abuse, and his campaign didn't reply to emails Friday seeking comment. Tim Janes, who was best friends with former state Republican Party executive director Jim Coursey in 1995 when Coursey was dating Thomas, said that she told him that year that Comer abused her throughout their relationship. "She confided to me in 1995 that Jamie Comer had abused her, how he controlled and how domineering he was to her," he said. "I never doubted her account for one minute." http://www.courier-journal.com/story/news/politics/elections/kentucky/2015/05/15/comer-abuse-allegations-true-state-sen-says/27389769/

We have a problem with suicides, murder-suicides, and STDs spreading like wildfire. Herpes is big, and Indiana just had that HIV outbreak earlier this year.

“Yes it is, it is extremely hard to get them, and when you can it's expensive, I paid $810 for one I absolutely had to have, and that was the least expensive since it was before 12 weeks (one girl had to pay $1400) It was medically necessary in my case due to my back and several other problems. They're always putting more and more restrictions on it. Another big problem most do not know about are the fake clinics that set up next door to fool women into coming in and then are held there against their will having to listen to religious crap and be completely degraded. Don't even get me started on the protestors outside, they're absolutely insane”

“Treasurer Larry Benz, suggested the foundation has grown so complex — it has more than $1 billion in assets and controls 10 corporations — that its processes and procedures should be audited.”

Eric Deters Gets Suspended Again by Supreme Court, Even Though He No Longer practices in Kentucky: http://www.cincinnati.com/story/news/2015/05/15/kentucky-supreme-court-suspends-eric-deters/27366357/ "Undeniably, Deters' litigation tactics are unacceptable professionally and, given his disciplinary history, prohibited by our conduct rules," Friday's ruling noted. "Despite several disciplinary actions before this court and various levels of punishment, it appears Deters is undeterred."
Deters has said he retired from the Kentucky Bar Association but Friday's ruling court noted Deters isn't retired because he didn't follow proper methods to do that. "Of course, an attorney facing disciplinary charges may not withdraw from membership while those disciplinary proceedings are pending," Friday's ruling noted. He has a federal lawsuit pending against the Kentucky Supreme Court regarding his reinstatement.

“Bevin is the candidate of the Tea Party, and he and Heiner are both plutocrats, having poured millions from their self-made fortunes into the race.” http://www.courier-journal.com/story/opinion/columnists/cross/2015/05/15/al-cross-unpredictable-race-hinges-turnout/27389071/

"Primary election May 9, 1903"
The Democratic State Executive Committee is in session here today considering the method by which a State ticket should be nominated next year, Gov. Beckham and his following favoring primary election all over Kentucky, while the friends of the other Gubernatorial candidates urge a continuance of the old convention plan of making nominations. The fight between the two factions promises to be long and bitter.

In Eagan v. Gerwe, 65 S.W. 437, this court said, “It seems reasonably clear from these provisions that the legislative intent was to place primary elections on the same plane as the regular elections.” When a primary election has been called in the manner prescribed by the statutes, the members of the committee who called and are required by the law to conduct it became officer of the law, and are required to respect and enforce the statutes enacted for the regulation of primary elections. If they refuse to perform a duty imposed by law—for instance, refuse to place the name of a candidate on the ballot—a mandamus will lie to compel them to do so. Young v. Beckham (Ky.) 72 S.W. 1092.

1951 Democratic Primary:

Section 151 of Ky Constitution: The General Assembly shall provide suitable means for depriving of office any person who, to procure his nomination or election, has, in his canvass or election, been guilty of any unlawful use of money, or other thing of value, or has been guilty of fraud, intimidation, bribery, or any other corrupt practice, and he shall be held responsible for acts done by others with his authority, or ratified by him. Text as Ratified on: August 3, 1891, and revised September 28, 1891. History: Not yet amended.

Vote Larson to end job

The verdict is in. The position of Kentucky's state treasurer is unnecessary and should be constitutionally eliminated.

In the 1990s, a Democrat ran for its abolition, in 2007 a Republican and in 2011 a Libertarian.

But the clincher is that our Senate then researched the idea and found that elimination would save taxpayers at least $1.4 million a year, without any significant loss of functions.

Sen. Chris McDaniel, chair of the Appropriations and Revenue Committee, sponsored Senate Bill 58, which was passed by a constitutionally mandated majority, last year. Gridlock killed the issue then.
Fortunately, today is a new day. Our lame-duck treasurer is termed out. There is one candidate pledging to work for abolition. Vote Jon Larson for treasurer on May 19.

I'd submit a plan to the EPA: http://www.kentucky.com/2015/05/13/3849131_major-kentucky-candidates-for.html?rh=1 I'd rather submit a plan to the EPA than for them to submit a plan on me. With me designing the plan, I can stretch out the time tables for as much as I needed.

I say, after a week, tell the children that this may be their final chance to get free from that house, if it is a house of pain, as Alex Brow had to live. While I'm curious about the specifics, he alleges mental, physical, and even sexual abuse, which is devastating to this family's case.

After a week, if none of the children come forward, then they must go back. Instead of wasting the Naugler's time, and the taxpayer's money, they should let the Naugler's use the $40,000 or so they've collected from gofundme.com to create their own wells.

Books Read By Anne Frank

2 outta 5 Kyians can't read, according to a 1999 Paul Patton Task Force commission report. “44% of Kentuckians struggle with minimal literacy skills, and 37% of the Kentuckians age 25 and older do not have a high school diploma.” http://www.lrc.ky.gov/lrcpubs/rr296.pdf But hey, Kentucky, don't lose heart. Just look at the good side. If 44% of Kentuckians CAN'T read, then that means that 56% of Kentuckians CAN read, so let's look at the positive side. Here's Wendy, a Kentuckian, from Letcher County, who I met the other day:  Many Kentuckians, especially the backwards, racist, and illiterate, love to fuck up their words as bad as they possibly can. “Taters” isn't only stupid... it's childish. Plus, potatoes aren't that great. Potatoes were responsible for killing off a huge Irish population... sure it's one of the world's main basic food staples, but rice, pork, beef, wheat, sugar, etc., are so much more important, and more d...

100 Greatest Works Humanity Has Ever Made

A Great Books Canon “To ignore the leaps and bounds we've advanced in the fields of technology and science is to forever play patty-cake to the cavepeople of yesteryear.” Podcast Explanation for the first few Great Books of the Freedom Skool: http://youtu.be/7jD_v4ji1kU This is the Freedom Skool's 2015 list of the 100 Greatest Works Humanity Has Ever Made in the order of most important to least. Books are too limiting in their scope for what ideas can cloud the brain, and folks from all over the world, yesterday, today, men, women, atheist, spiritual, white, black, straight, gay, transvestite, have all helped in the collaboration in the making of this list. Out of the great pool of ideas, the best ideas should prevail. Thus, the 100 greatest works ever are nothing more than the 100 greatest ideas ever constructed. For all intensive and respectful purposes, consider this my own personal 100 “great books” list. For all kinds of culture, things which please the eyes, su...
